TVR TV DEAL IS DONE!
Finally we can confirm that TVR racing is back on TV. Several of the TVR European Challenge races are to be broadcast on Satellite and Terrestrial TV. Owen O’Neil’s Bristol based company - Ashton Consulting and Dunlop Tyres have combined to provide funds for this rather premier TV sponsorship package. Owen has been a great friend to TVR racing over the last 3-4 years firstly as a Team Sponsor, supporting Marc Hokin’s cars and then as a Racer himself in 08 in Marc’s Group B ’77 Griff which he bought when Marc moved to Group A. He has also raced in Britcar’s, leading the whole race for several hours in the Topcats Marcos. So, here’s to 2009, and TVR racing. Going from strength to strength in it’s 20th year.
From the official TVR Challenge website… A TV deal has been finalised to provide coverage of the Dunlop TVR European Challenge for the 2009 season. Five of the seven rounds will be covered by AMG TV for distribution to Channel 5 and Motors TV as part of their Race & Rally UK Package and as one stand alone series for Men and Motors. This is a very exciting time for the Championship as it raises the profile even more and enables TVR fans to get a regular fix of TVR racing from the comfort of their sofas when they cannot make it to the circuit and also allows sponsors to have regular TV coverage on both Terrestrial and Satellite Channels, hopefully encouraging more funding into the series.
The rounds to be broadcast are as follows. The Race and Rally Programme goes out regularly on Motors TV at 9.30PM on a Friday on Channel 413 and is also repeated on Channel 5 (time tbc). The exclusive TVR Challenge programme for Men and Motors will go out on Satellite channel 178 at the following times. 1 Donnington Park: R3/4 Mon 8th June at 19:00 then Tues 9th June at 13:00, 16:00 & 1am 2 Mallory Park: R7/8 Mon 31st Aug at 19:00 then Tues 1st Sept at 13:00, 16:00 & 1am 3 Castle Combe: R9/10 Mon 14th Sept at 19:00 then Tues 15th Sept at 13:00, 16:00 & 1am 4 Anglesey: R11/12 Mon 26th Oct at 19:00 then Tues 27th Oct at 13:00, 16:00 & 1am 5 Oulton Park: R13/14 Mon 23rd Nov at 19:00 then Tues 24th Nov at 13:00, 16:00 & 1am Set your sky+ boxes now!
