TVRMonster enter the “Baby 360” Challenge at Brands GP in September!

Brands GP is a circuit I have always wanted to race, but have never even driven it! Now, at the ripe old age of 49 I will get my chance; not just in a Tuscan, But in an uber Tuscan!

My mate Perry Waddams and I will be entering the 2-hour endurance race in his Crowthorne sponsored Tuscan. This Tuscan is indeed a bit special running a 6.2 LS3 Chevrolet engine with around 500bhp. This is mated to a 6 speed sequential gearbox and to hold it down, and aero package has now been added incorporating a huge carbon fibre wing and a not insubstantial splitter.

                                   

2012 is a development year for the Crowthorne Tuscan with more power being added, transmission changes from 5spd manual to 6spd sequential, not forgetting the new Aero package, so as you can imagine there has been the odd niggle; but the raw pace has been evident at every appearance. The idea is to enter a longer duration race to a) test the driver in a different disciple and b) give a longer track period to develop the car in a race environment.

It looks like we should have fun mixing with the Mustangs and Astons but its sure to be  a tough weekend as the competition will be fierce in the no holds barred Invitation class.

1 360 Challenge Endurance Race, Brands Hatch Grand Prix
1 Nordschleife Trackday Run, Nurburgring Germany.
