Followers of our progress in the Zolder 24hr race in August may be wondering what happened to our report and indeed the car after securing a very convincing pole position followed by a comfortable lead in the opening three hours of the race.

The brand newly installed engine, having exhibited no problems until the final moment, decided to expire and so the team had to remove an extremely hot engine from its bay and replace with another. On further inspection it was discovered that the no. 7 cylinder had cracked in the exact same place as another one of our engines had done at a previous race in one of our other race cars, raising concerns of a possible manufacture issue. The team changed the engines in an incredible 3 hours and 45 minutes and returned to the track with applause from spectators who had come to watch the team in action. Phil Keen was upbeat and confident that he could get the car back in contention…somehow. The drivers did not disappoint and were eating into the deficit with a continuous and unbroken stream of fastest laps to try and get back on terms with the leading Porsches. It was not going to be the team’s race though.

Another pitstop for the team and a lengthy investigation revealed rear chassis failure and with much regret it was decided that the team should withdraw from the race.

The Mosler will be ready in time for the Britcar 24hr race on the 2-3rd October where we hope for better fortune!
